Fingerprint cards are provided by the employer or licensing agency that is requiring you to have them done. The Valparaiso Police Department does not provide applicant cards. All personal information, EXCEPT FOR SIGNATURE, should be filled out completely in black ink on the front of the fingerprint card PRIOR to coming to the police department.
This service is free to all Valparaiso residents and a $5.00 fee applies to all persons residing outside the city limits of Valparaiso, the monies should be in correct change and cash only; receipts available upon request.
Government issued photo identification is also required (Military I.D., State Driver’s License, Etc.)
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Police reports handled by the Valparaiso Police Department are released in accordance with the State of Florida’s Public Records Act. Public Records are available when completed and can be picked up in person.

In order to minimize wait time when you come in to pick up a report, you may submit a request for a copy of a completed report to be printed and waiting for you. A request may be made by telephone (850-729-5400), by mail or in person (Valparaiso Police Department Attn: Records, 465 Valparaiso Pkwy; Valparaiso, FL 32580), or by submitting a request by email ( Upon completion and approval they can be picked up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the police department dispatch window with proper photo identification. There is a report copy fee of $2.00 per report for 1st 4 sheets, this is an average report; any cost over that will depend on research time and copy cost, the monies should be in correct change and cash only; receipts available upon request.

Motor vehicle crash records are confidential for a period of 60 days from the date the crash is reported. However, the parties and vehicle owners involved in the crash, their legal representatives, their insurance companies and agents, and prosecutorial authorities may receive a copy of the report upon its completion. Commonly accepted photo identification must be presented at the time the report is received.
